The YMCA is a values-based charity dedicated to providing everyone with the opportunity to live a connected, active and purpose-driven life.

For more than 40 years the Family YMCA of Prince George has been providing community programs & services that promote health and well-being in Northern British Columbia. The YMCA mission is enabled by the support of donors, members, volunteers, staff, and a volunteer Board of Directors. All of these individuals are equally important to our success and epitomizes the qualities of a “Y Champion”.

What is a Y Champion?

A person who gives of them self in ways that enrich his or her life and the lives of others:

• A teen who volunteers time to help youth with homework
• A child care worker that wants to provide the best care possible
• A cancer survivor coaching martial arts to friends
• An older brother playing hoops with his siblings
• A camp counselor that teaches archery and gives a child a life-long memory
• A maintenance worker who keeps the grass green and the sidewalk clean
• A donor who gives to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign
